Welcome Letter ENCALS Executive Board Chair

Dear colleagues and members of the ENCALS community,

We look forward to welcoming you to ENCALS 2026. For this edition, we will meet in Madrid, Spain, where our colleagues Dr. Alberto García Redondo and Dr. Jesús Esteban Pérez will host us at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos.

The presence of more than 1,000 participants from around the world each year highlights both the urgency of our mission and the strong global commitment to advancing ALS research. Despite important progress in recent years, ALS remains a devastating disease for which no curative treatment is yet available. This makes international collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation more essential than ever.

ENCALS provides a platform to exchange new insights, discuss promising strategies, and strengthen collaborations across disciplines and borders. Only by working together can we accelerate the translation from discovery to clinical application and ultimately improve outcomes for people living with ALS.

We hope this conference will not only inform and inspire, but also foster new connections and deepen existing partnerships. On behalf of the organizing committee, we invite you to join our global ALS community at ENCALS 2026.
